Rate questions
How our pricing works
Why are residential and commercial rates different?
Commercial work typically involves heavier service sizes, three-phase equipment, code and inspection requirements, and coordination that residential jobs do not. Business locations bill at $75/hr for the electrician and $45/hr for the helper; homes bill at $70/hr and $40/hr. The rate is set by the type of property, and we confirm which applies before we start.
Why is there a 3-hour minimum?
Getting a licensed electrician, a helper and the right equipment to your location has a real cost whether the fix takes ten minutes or all afternoon. The 3-hour minimum covers that, and on most jobs there is plenty of work to fill the time.
When do overtime rates apply?
After-hours service starts at 3:00 PM on weekdays and covers all day Saturday and Sunday. During that window the electrician bills at $187.50/hr and the helper at $112.50/hr. If you call ahead we will always tell you exactly what to expect before we start.
How does mileage work?
Mileage is free for customers inside El Campo. For work outside El Campo, mileage is billed at a flat $1.80 per mile. We travel across South Texas — including Houston, Austin and San Antonio — for the right job.
Do you give quotes over the phone?
No. We do not quote prices over the phone. Every job is different and a number given sight-unseen is usually wrong, so we look at the work first and then give you a real quote. Our hourly labor rates are published on this page, so you always know what the clock costs going in.
What does “fuel not included” mean on rentals?
Generator, light tower and backhoe rates cover the equipment and, where applicable, the operator. Fuel is billed separately or topped off by you, since usage varies a lot by job. We go over the details when you book.
How do I get a price for oilfield or a big project?
Oilfield, large commercial and specialty jobs are quoted per project rather than straight off the rate sheet — there are too many variables for one flat number. Call the office at (979) 543-7887 or email the details and we will get you a real quote.
